If you have never been to a tearoom before, you’re in for a treat!

To have the best experience possible, is important that you let us know about any food allergies or dietary restrictions BEFORE you arrive. Our kitchen is fairly small, so we don’t always have the counter or storage space to make alternative replacements, but we will do our best to accommodate dietary needs to be inclusive for anyone who wants to enjoy an afternoon tea experience. The easiest way to do this is by making a notation on your Tock Reservation, or by letting our staff know when making a reservation by phone.

Many guests ask about a dress code, which is usually casual…but, if you enjoy dressing up, then by all means, PLEASE dress up! (We do ask that you refrain from anything covered in glitter…there was an incident, and the staff hasn’t fully recovered from the trauma)

Now, here is what you can expect.:  Afternoon tea is definitely NOT fast food! Your tea service will usually last for a minimum of 1.5 hours. If you do not have time available to enjoy a full afternoon tea, we would love to accommodate you with one of our other delicious options on this visit, such as our Ploughman’s Lunch plate, salads, or Power “T”ea.

After you arrive and are seated, your server will present you with a menu and our extensive “atlas” of teas.  Each guest is served their own pot of tea – so you don’t all have to agree on which tea you would like to try.  We do limit 2-3 pots on the table at a time to save space, and we will bring out your next tea as soon as a pot is emptied.  Now – here is something you NEED to know!  Tea takes TIME to steep!  After your server has taken your order, please be patient while they prepare the perfect pot.  This can take between 5 and 20 minutes, depending on which tea you ordered and how many pots are currently being brewed.  After your teas are all finished brewing, your server will pour your first cup for you and leave the pot for you to serve yourself.  Please be careful, as the teas are very HOT.

After your tea arrives, Afternoon Tea Experiences will receive their scone, served with cream, lemon curd, jam.  ENJOY!

Next, the Marble Ci-tea guests will receive their cheese and fruit plates.

Then, Afternoon Teas will get their tiered tray.  This tray carries your finger sandwiches, savory bites, and choice of desserts.  Our menu changes with the creativity of our chefs, so your server will take you on a tour of your tray when it arrives at the table.  That’s part of the fun & whimsy of afternoon tea.  For anyone who has opted for our Berries & Cream dessert, it will be brought out closer to the end of the sandwiches and bites being completed, so that it doesn’t melt while you enjoy your savories.
